When I was 18, I grew out of a size E bra and I found it increasingly
difficult to find lingerie and swimwear. I would desperately search
Canberra stores trying to find a bra that wasn't 'granny' style. It was
hopeless. I felt intimidated by shop assistants who became unhelpful after
being unable to find a style I liked and which fit correctly, so I would
eventually give in and purchase a plain black or white one in a larger,
older style. I remember more than once leaving the shopping centre in
tears and because of this, shopping for lingerie became almost
non-existent for me.
Swimwear was an even more hopeless venture, as the sizing was always
conformed i.e. sizes 8, 10, 12, with no cup size; and being a smaller back
size, it was impossible to get a pair that fit. I didn't buy swimmers for
over 3 years due to this problem, but instead would wear a singlet top
with a bra and shorts.
In late 2003 when I was 23 I decided it was time to see some of the world.
It was during my 6 months in London that I happened to come across a store
specialising in lingerie and swimwear for D+ cup sizes. It was all my
problems solved at once! I couldn't believe this store had delicate
looking bras and a whole range of swimwear in sizes I didn't even know
existed and in colors that only the sizes A-C of the world were wearing
back in Oz. Not only was the range extensive, the service, which was from
ladies who like myself were rather more endowed in the breast compartment,
was fantastic.
I returned home and continued to purchase my lingerie and swimwear through
the stores online service, which was fantastic. However as time went by
and my body changed, I found it frustrating ordering my lingerie, waiting
for it to arrive, and then having exchange it as it was no longer the best
fit for me. I complained constantly to my best friend, Rachel that
something needed to be done.
Together we decided that nothing was going to be change unless perhaps we
did something about it. So we did. We formed a partnership that would
bring the larger busted women of Australia a more diverse range of
lingerie and swimwear.
We called our partnership Extravagant Bra Solutions.
We stock
lingerie and swimwear from band sizes 8-28 and cup sizes D-K. Although
only new in the market, we are yet to find a
customer who we haven't been able to fit, and who hasn't left us without a
smile a mile wide. We are constantly trying to source new products in a
more diverse range to help fit everyone who comes to us for help.
We have selected from specialty boutiques around the world to form the
most stunning collection one could imagine. Our range not only offers
style, but also offers comfort and most importantly support.
The difference between Extravagant Bra Solutions and their competitors
will be that our local customers will be able to browse a selection and
try on before they buy - what other internet based competitors are unable
to offer. We endeavor to bring professional, friendly and personal
service; firstly to Canberra's ladies and with a view to expand in the
future.
